Some branding sessions feel like absolute magic and Stephanie’s was one of those. It’s sessions like this that make me feel incredibly grateful to be an Oklahoma brand photographer and get to work with people as genuine as her!
From our very first conversation, I could tell this shoot was going to be something special. Stephanie came into this season of her life in a sort of molting stage, shedding old layers and stepping into a new version of herself and her work. She’s a licensed therapist and coach who holds space for others in some of their most transformative moments, and I wanted to capture that same depth and unfolding through her brand imagery.
One of the visual anchors we created together was the idea of the “mind spiral,” a symbolic representation of the way thoughts loop and evolve in the healing process. It became a thread that wove through the session, both conceptually and visually, inviting movement, reflection, and emotion into each frame.
What I loved most, though, was how Stephanie brought her own playful, creative energy to the shoot. She showed up with a space helmet (yes, really!) and a few styrofoam heads that we decorated with flowers, which instantly became a canvas for storytelling. These details reflected her blend of intellect, humor, and imagination.. proof that even deep, introspective work can have room for lightness and curiosity.
As we moved through each scene, we found a steady rhythm.. a balance between the structured vision I had planned and the spontaneous moments that unfolded because Stephanie wasn’t afraid to experiment. That’s always my favorite part of sessions like this: when a client brings their full self, and we build something together that neither of us could’ve created alone.
This session felt like a celebration of growth, authenticity, and creative freedom.. the kind of story that reminds me of exactly why I do what I do!
